Building land prices continue to rise in Flanders

The prices of building plots continue to rise in Flanders, now reaching a median of €429 per m2, an increase of 13% on an annualised basis, according to the latest Baromètre des Notaires survey, published on Friday.

In 5 years, prices have jumped by 50%, but this is the first time that the €400-mark has been passed. Last year, the median price was €379/m2.

Land is most expensive in East Flanders (€554/m2). Limburg, on the other hand, has the lowest median price (€230/m2).

Flemish Brabant is the only province to record a decline in its median price, which dropped by -10.6% to €403/m2.

Finally, in the 1st half of the year, the sale of building plots fell by 4% in Flanders and by 10% for the country as a whole, the Baromètre des Notaires shows.
