The programme of this year's Voodoo Village Festival, to be held on 9 and 10 September in Grimbergen,  Flemish Brabant, includes DJ’s, laser shows and great food, but also “holistic experiences,” organisers said on Wednesday.

Artists on the bill include Swiss band Adriatique and Italian duo Mathame, as well as Belgian DJs,  such as Yves Deruyter, Lola Haro and Nico Morano.

Beyond music, the festival will offer “holistic experiences,” such as the “cocoa ceremony” or connection workshops, which encourage introspection.

Stomachs will not be forgotten, with two Brussels chefs taking charge of the festival restaurant: Mallory Gabsi – who has just won his first star in Paris – and Paul Delrez ('La guinguette en ville').

Shuttle buses will be running from Antwerp, Brussels, Ghent, Hasselt, Leuven and Mechelen. For music lovers with sea legs, a party boat will take off from Tour & Taxis for the Village to the sounds of DJ sets.

Part of the festival’s proceeds will be donated to initiatives in Grimbergen that the organisers see as inspiring.

“These inspiring initiatives include Villa N.J.A.M., a place where young people’s art and creativity are encouraged to flourish; Care Farm Huppeldepup, where care and nature combine to promote well-being; and Den Diepen Boomgaard, a green oasis that strengthens the bond between man and the environment,”  the organisers say.
