Following problems with various external service providers, the organisers of Mons La City Parade have decided, in agreement with the municipal authorities, to cancel the event, which was due to take place on Saturday 2 September. No new date has yet been set.

Both the organisers and the City have preferred to postpone the event so that "all the conditions for optimum organisation can be met", according to a statement from the City of Mons. "Discussions will take place at a later date to see when the event could be rescheduled."

The City specifies that all pre-sales for the Closing Party and After Party planned for this event will be reimbursed by the organiser.

After its last edition in 2017 on the Heysel plateau in Brussels, the La City Parade was due to make its grand return next weekend to the city under the slogan "Together as one".

Back in 2007, the La City Parade made a stopover in Mons. It brought together eighteen floats and over 100,000 participants.
