A 53-year-old man has died in an accident at a sand quarry in Oud-Heverlee, Flemish Brabant, Het Nieuwsblad reported on Monday.
The incident was confirmed by the Leuven Public Prosecutor's Office.
The accident occurred shortly before 09:00 on Monday. The man, a lorry driver from Landen, was standing in front of his lorry when a bulldozer reversed in his direction. The man was crushed between the two vehicles.
The Public Prosecutor's Office attended the scene and dispatched a doctor, the laboratory and a traffic expert. The Labour Auditorate and the workplace welfare service were also informed.
"The exact circumstances of the accident are still under investigation," said a spokesperson for the Public Prosecutor's Office.
