Two pieces of artwork by Dutch painter Vincent Van Gogh were sold in an auction house in Oostakker, near Ghent, on Sunday.

€220,000 was paid for a watercolour painting of flowers, while €140,000 was paid for a charcoal drawing of a jug.

Experts have repeatedly emphasised that the two pieces of art are genuine Van Gogh, reports De Standaard.

“This is a high point of my life,” said auctioneer John Kiggen, who sold the two Van Gogh works, reports VRT.

As both buyers are Belgian, the two pieces of art are likely to stay in Belgium.
