Belgian motorists in France this summer received 29% fewer speeding fines compared with summer 2018, according to new figures sent by mobility club, VAB, to the French government.
In July and August 2019, 102,133 Belgians driving in France received a speeding fine, 29% less than in 2018.
The decline in speeding fines is the result of activities by the 'gilets jaunes' during which many speed cameras were destroyed in France, according to the French government, reports HLN and De Standaard.
