More than 46,000 Belgians choose to work in Luxembourg

Luxembourg employs 46,084 Belgian workers, according to data for the 2nd quarter from the National Institute for Statistics and Economic Studies of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg (Statec) that was published on Tuesday.

The country employs 421,809 workers, of whom 191,913 are border workers: 100,034 French, 46,084 Belgians and 45,795 Germans.

The two sectors "administration and other public services" and "financial and insurance activities" cover 32% of paid work. They are responsible for 37% of net job creation between the second quarter of 2018 and the second quarter of 2019.

The rate of unemployment has risen to 5.4% in the Grand Duchy.
