Brussels terror attack: German police search home of man who shared perpetrator's video

Special units of the German state of Saxony searched the Dresden home of a 45-year-old Tunisian who was in contact with the perpetrator of last Monday’s terror attack in Brussels that claimed the lives of two Swedish nationals.

However, the man is not considered an accomplice.

The raid took place on Tuesday evening, the German newspaper Bild reported.

The perpetrator of Monday’s attack, Tunisian Abdesalem Lassoued, recorded a video claiming responsibility for the attack, as well as another in which he pledged allegiance to the Islamic State (ISIS) terrorist group.

According to Bild, Lassoued forwarded the latter video to 26 contacts, 11 in Belgium and 15 abroad, including the man in Dresden.

The German daily added that, according to the investigation, the Dresden resident did not share any extremist views, and no incriminating evidence was found at his home.

He was therefore released and is not considered an accomplice.
