A partial lunar eclipse will light up the sky this Saturday evening, starting at 20:01, peaking at 22:14, and concluding at 00:26.

This phenomenon unfolds when the Earth sits between the Moon and the Sun, casting a shadow over a section of the night-time celestial body.

However, a partial eclipse differs from a total one, which arises when the Sun, Earth, and Moon align perfectly. As a result, the Earth’s shadow fully engulfs the Moon, presenting it in a reddish hue. In contrast, during a partial eclipse, the Moon appears grey and dull due to not being entirely obscured, according to the Urania Observatory in Switzerland.
