Flemish Interior Affairs Minister, Bart Somers (Open VLD), has announced his resignation from the Flemish Government.
Somers, on Monday, revealed his decision to step down from his ministerial position.
The announcement was made on X (formerly Twitter).
The politician stated that his main reason was to refocus his energies on the city of Mechelen.
In a return to local politics, Somers becomes the Mechelen’s mayor once again.
