Brussels police arrested a man last Wednesday, who was found driving with a loaded firearm in his vehicle.
Confirming a report from Sudinfo, the Brussels Public Prosecutor’s Office said on Tuesday that drugs and a blood-stained pair of shoes were discovered at his home.
"A suspect was arrested on 1 November following a police check in Ixelles," explained a spokeswoman for the prosecutor’s office. During the check, the police noticed the vehicle had a fake registration plate.
Further investigation revealed that the car was stolen. Inside, the police found a loaded war weapon, several pairs of American-style knuckle-dusters, and tear gas sprays. The suspect was arrested and presented to the prosecution.
A search conducted the same day uncovered further ammunition, narcotics, and blood-stained footwear.
The Prosecutor’s Office requested the arrest of the individual for unlawful possession and transport of prohibited weapons, carrying a firearm loaded with ammunition, and illegal possession of drugs for sale in association.
