Sunday morning's gloom will eventually give way to occasional sunshine, according to the Royal Meteorological Institute (RMI).
For the remainder of the day, there will be increased cloud cover and light rain in the afternoon, beginning in the southwest.
Overcast conditions are expected, with temperature highs swinging between 6°C in the High Fens and a warmer 9°C on the plains. Winds will be light to moderate, blowing from the south-southeast.
As Sunday evening approaches, rain showers will drift in from the French borders. However, temporary relief is expected in the country's northern and northeastern regions.
During the night, the entire country should prepare for persistent rainfall. As temperatures hover between 4°C and 7°C, a warmer front is predicted for the latter half.
