Metro Line 5 in Brussels will be disrupted from 18 to 19 November between Jacques Brel and Erasme stations due to planned construction work by Brussels transport network STIB, the company stated in a press release on Tuesday.
STIB intends to remove two sets of points located between Saint-Guidon and Veeweyde stations on the metro Line 5. This construction work will also involve adjustments to approximately 200 metres of track, the ballast and the sleepers.
There will therefore be no Line 5 metro trains operating between Jacques Brel and Erasme stations from 18 to 19 November.
To ease disruption, STIB has confirmed that it will deploy bus shuttles throughout the weekend. These will serve all stations, including Résistance and Meir (bus 46), Saint-Nicolas (De Lijn bus) and Meylemeersch (bus 74) stops.
Additionally, the route of Line 73 buses from Brussels-Midi Station to Ceria will be extended from Ceria terminus to Erasme Station (bus 74 stop towards Clémence Everard). The extended Line 73 buses will also serve the same stops as the bus shuttles between Ceria and Erasme.
