Haute-Savoie, like Pas-de-Calais, is on red alert for flooding on Tuesday and Wednesday due to anticipated rainfall, Météo-France announced on Tuesday.
Neighbouring Savoie department has been put on an orange flood alert. This alert anticipates a “serious episode during a period of significant thawing,” the weather forecasting agency explained.
The latest rainfall forecast is equivalent to the monthly precipitation usually registered for this time of the year, according to Météo-France.
