Two 12-year-old boys have been charged with the murder of a 19-year-old man after stabbing him to death in Wolverhampton (central England) on Monday, authorities confirmed on Thursday.
The incident, which occurred around 20:30 local time on Monday night in Wolverhampton, resulted in the fatal stabbing of 19-year-old Shawn Seesahai. Despite the immediate intervention of emergency services, the young man was pronounced dead at the scene.
On Thursday, West Midlands police said the two boys, who cannot be named for legal reasons, had been charged with his murder, as well as possession of a bladed article. They appeared at Birmingham Magistrates' Court on Friday and are also charged with possession of a machete, the BBC reports.
Authorities have yet to reveal any possible motive behind the actions of the two suspects.
"Shawn Seesahai was a courageous, compassionate and confident young soul who sadly lost his life at the age of 19. He was looking forward to accomplish many future plans and ambitions," the victim's mother said in a statement released through the police.
"He cared dearly about his family and friends and he absolutely loved to help people. He was a generous person and had a good personality. We will always have him in our hearts."
