Television remains the go-to source of information for Belgians, according to a Eurobarometer survey released by the European Parliament on Friday.
The October survey revealed that nearly three-quarters (71%) of Belgians chose television as their primary news source over the past week, a figure in line with the European average.
In contrast, radio lags behind, reaching 47% of Belgian audiences, although it is notably higher than the average EU figure of 37%.
Online newspapers and information platforms follow at 40%, with a slight lag from the EU average of 42%. Meanwhile, social media platforms are used by one in three Belgians, matching the European usage rate of 37%.

Printed press manages to attract 23% of Belgians, which is slightly above the EU average of 21%.
Unsurprisingly, the 15 to 24-year-old demographic is found to be the key consumer of social media for news.
However, for all other age groups, television stands as the preferred news outlet.
