Master Rakugo storyteller Katsura Sunshine will perform in Brussels for the very first time on Tuesday 21st November at the Bouche-à-Oreille theatre, together with award winning standup comedian Luca Cupani.
They will offer a combination of Rakugo and Standup comedy, uniting completely different cultures around one topic: laughter.
Katsura Sunshine’s Rakugo was nominated for Best Unique Theatrical Experience for the 2020 Off-Broadway Alliance Award. It is now in it’s fifth year on Broadway and 3rd in London’s West End.
His short Rakugo videos have received several millions of views on Instagram and TikTok. Sunshine is one of the very few occidentals to have studied the art of Rakugo with a Japanese master, and he has become a true star not only in Japan, but around the world.

His counterpart and accomplice in this show is Italian standup comedian Luca Cupani.
Luca has performed all around the world, and he has been featured on Zelig, presently the most successful Italian TV comedy show (recorded live in front of an audience of 2300 people).
He has also made acclaimed appearances on BBC and Amazon Prime. He regularly performs at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, where he won the prestigious comedy competition "So You Think You Are Funny". He has also appeared at the Just For Laughs festival in Montreal, Canada.
