Two individuals were injured in Monday night’s shooting in Evere, a Brussels municipality, according to a spokesperson from the Brussels-North police zone.
"The police arrived at the scene of the shooting incident in a café on Henri Conscience Avenue in Evere on Monday evening, around 21:34," the spokesperson detailed. "Two individuals, one being a passing motorist, were injured," she added.
Both victims received treatment from emergency services, and their lives are not at risk.
A suspect has been apprehended overnight by BruNo zone police officers, the police informed. This information has been passed to the Brussels Public Prosecutor’s Office, which in turn has initiated the preliminary investigative tasks.
The spokesperson finished by saying, “The investigation has begun and, in its best interest, there will be no further communication on the matter today”.
