One in three British employees admit to occasionally working in pyjamas, according to a survey conducted by employment website Indeed.

On average, employees don their nightwear 46 working days a year, with one in 12 never bothering to dress for a day's work.

Half of the employers surveyed believe that staff have become too casual since the pandemic and the shift towards more remote working. Almost one third would like stricter dress codes.

Employers view wearing pyjamas during working hours as the worst offence in terms of representation. This is followed by having greasy and unkempt hair, and wearing tracksuit bottoms.

The survey reveals that younger employees (18-26 years) are the most meticulous about their appearance: 42% of them wear suits, compared to a mere 15% of workers aged 35 and above.

Furthermore, over half of the surveyed employees (53%) confessed to only dressing partially for video conferences.
