Sunday will see sporadic rainfall, clearing from the west, with temperatures oscillating between 1 and 9°C, according to the Royal Meteorological Institute (KMI).

In the evening and overnight, it will be largely overcast, with rains beginning to fall sporadically. In Low and Middle Belgium, rain is predicted, whilst the Ardennes could see melting snow or snow above altitudes of 300-400m. Minimum temperatures will range from -1 to 5°C, and winds will be moderate to quite strong, getting gusts of up to 50-55km/h.

On Monday, an active front will traverse the country from west to east. The High Ardennes could initially see a 5-10cm snow cover. Temperatures will vary from 0°C in the Ardennes to 9°C by the sea. Again, winds will be moderate to strong.

Tuesday will be intermittently cloudy with showers over the western part of the country drifting in from the North Sea. Maximum temperatures will be around -1°C in the High Ardennes, around 4 or 5°C in the centre, and around 6 or 7°C by the sea.

By Wednesday morning, most areas will experience freezing temperatures, overcast skies in the Ardennes, and clear skies elsewhere. A high of -1°C is expected in the High Fens, and 6°C at the coast, with mostly moderate winds.

On Thursday, a band of winter precipitation is likely to sweep across the country from France. The high temperatures will be between 0 and 5°C.

On Friday and Saturday, unsettled, often overcast weather will prevail with occasional rainfall. The Ardennes will see continuous snow precipitation, and it’s also likely to fall in Flanders. High temperatures will range between -2 and 5°C.

The warning for slippery conditions started on Saturday at 12:00 and will run until Monday at 22:00 for the Liège province, pausing from 11:00 Sunday until 04:00 Monday.

For Luxembourg province, the warning will only apply from 04:00 to 22:00 on Monday.

Additional fog could potentially reduce visibility to below 200 metres in the Ardennes highlands. The fog-related yellow alert is in effect from 19:00 Saturday to 13:00 Sunday.
