A Brussels Airlines Airbus A330 has been grounded in Côte d'Ivoire following a tarmac collision, forcing the airline to review its flight schedule.
The aircraft suffered substantial damage after an incident involving a ground handling vehicle on Thursday evening.
While long-lasting repairs are undertaken, the Belgian airline is seeking alternatives to minimise disruption to their flight schedule. However, the company confirmed on Monday that cancelled flights may be unavoidable.
Brussels Airlines has had to reorganise certain flight connections through combining multiple destinations into a single flight to avoid cancellations. If there are further cancellations, passengers will have the option to reschedule, possibly with another airline.
The fuselage was somewhat damaged after a ground handler's vehicle on the Abidjan airport tarmac struck the aircraft last Thursday evening. At the time of the collision, passengers were on board the plane but no one was injured.
