Nearly 700 cases of unlicenced real estate agents have been launched in Belgium this year.
The regulatory body, the Professional Institute of Estate Agents (IPI), says these cases are being taken in the interest of the consumers.
“Buyers want assurance that transactions are handled by properly accredited agents.”
The number of cases this year has nearly doubled compared to 2022.
The IPI warns that undertaking estate agency work without the required accreditation is considered illegal.
