In the late 19th century, the iconic Theatre de l'Olympia graced this location, transforming into the modern Cinema Ambassador in 1930. Architect Alban Chambon, already famous for designing the Majestic Ostende Royal Theater laid the foundation for the Rue Orts-Paul Devaux building, eventually housing the Marriott Hotel.
