Two divers are reported missing after disappearing during an evening dive in Eau d'Heure Lakes. Their diving equipment was found on Friday.

The divers, born in 1964 and 1977, are from the Liège area. They disappeared after a dive at around 17:00 at the Plate Taille site in Froidchapelle, Hainaut. The Charleroi Public Prosecutor's Office confirmed the news on Friday evening.

One diver's son alerted authorities when he could not reach his father and found his car still parked at the site.

Search operations began late Thursday night and continued from midday on Friday. Civil protection divers equipped with sonar located the diving equipment, which appeared to belong to two different individuals.

The Charleroi Public Prosecutor's Office said that the chances of finding the divers alive were slim.

The search will resume on Saturday.
