In Brussels in 2023, more than 150,000 issues were reported via the FixMyStreet app, with nearly 130,000 resolved, a 57% increase on the previous year.
Launched in Brussels in 2013 and across various Walloon municipalities since, the FixMyStreet app allows citizens and public authorities to report local issues. These can include issues with public cleanliness, street defects and urban damage.
Brussels Region saw a sharp increase in reports over the course of 2023, according to paradigm.brussels.
In total, 150,045 requests were made via the app and website over the last twelve months, representing a 55% growth rate from 2022. It’s highlighted that over half of these reports came from citizens themselves.
The most common requests related to public cleanliness (53% of incidents) followed by issues related to streets (15%) and urban furniture (6%).
Notably, nearly 130,000 of the reported incidents were acknowledged as resolved, marking a 57% increase since 2022. Among these, over 20,000 reports intended for Bruxelles Mobilité (road infrastructures and street services) were addressed over the past year.
