Two arrested after botched supermarket hold-up in Wallonia

Two individuals were arrested after a failed supermarket robbery in Tubize on Saturday afternoon.

The alarm was raised at 13:00 by a customer at the Intermarché supermarket on Rue du Bailli. The witness observed the suspicious actions of two masked men near the premises, apparently planning to commit a robbery.

Promptly notified, police from the West Walloon Brabant area intervened and apprehended the suspects, from the Charleroi area, who were armed with knives.

The individuals were detained and following their interview, presented to the Walloon Brabant prosecutor’s office.

Already known to law enforcement, the two individuals born in 2003 and 2005 were placed under arrest by the instruction judge of Nivelles who is handling the case.
