For the first time ever, the World Economic Summit in Davos boasts a Belgium House, showcasing the assets of the country's economy.

The House is a private initiative by the most prominent Belgian companies, supported by the Office of the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and coordinated by European Business Summits.

It features conferences, workshops and panel discussions with the participation of global CEOs and inspiring speakers.

In past editions of the Forum, the official Belgian delegation was spread across several hotels. It did not have its own space on Davos’s Promenade for organising meetings, receptions, and debates in the snowy setting. All that has changed at this year's 54th edition, with Belgium now able to play host to members of the global political and economic elite in a dedicated location.

The total cost of Belgian House is €1 million, fully funded by the the country's business sector, including AB InBev, Syensqo, DEME, Ackermans & van Haaren, Belfius, Fluxys and the Port of Antwerp-Bruges.

Arnauld Thysen, General Manager of European Business Summits, believes the cost is modest. “The Belgian House offers our country priceless visibility,” he asserts.

Flanders grasped that concept much earlier. The region has been showcasing its ‘Flanders Room’ in Davos for several years now.
