Belgium's RTBF and VRT have joined the 'Public Media Alliance', a coalition of 50 international public media entities.
The alliance addresses shared challenges within the public media sector and promotes knowledge and best practice sharing among members.
Through research, workshops and exchange opportunities, the network utilises the core strengths and values of public media to expand their global impact. High-profile members include the BBC, Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) and Zweites Deutsches Fernsehen (ZDF).
"Facing future technological and societal challenges, strengthening collaborations is imperative for success," stated Jean-Paul Philippot, general manager of RTBF. He acknowledged the global reach of Public Media Alliance as a "valuable asset, a source of inspiration and pride".
Founded in 1945, the organisation is the world's largest public media alliance.
