Belgian theme park company Plopsa intends to invest €80 million in the Holiday Park amusement park in Haßloch, western Germany, over the next five years, focusing on the addition of a water park.

Plopsa is the theme park division of Studio 100, having acquired this German amusement park in 2010. Half of the planned investment will be channelled towards creating new themed areas and attractions.

By spring 2025, they anticipate unveiling an indoor attraction based on the Smurfs, as well as a new themed area by the park's pond, the company revealed.

A "spectacular" attraction themed around Tomorrowland is set to debut the following year, targeting a teen audience. Other new attractions are expected to be operational as early as this summer.

As for the water park, which will use up the second half of the budget, it is set to feature several swimming pools, water slides and themed play structures. The management hopes that this new infrastructure will draw visitors from outside the region to Holiday Park Germany.

Plopsa currently operates eight theme parks in Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany, collectively attracting an average of 3.5 million visitors every year.
