On the agenda this year will be the Pride March that travels through the city, the Pride Village that welcomes associations and bars, and the main stage where LGBTQIA+ artists and DJs perform for a party that attracts no less than 250,000 people.
This celebration has never forgotten its origins: born of a struggle for the defence and respect of the rights of the LGBTQIA+ community.
The parade begins and ends at the event’s main stage Place Albertine and another stage Place de la Bourse, and the Rainbow Village downtown, where most of the bars are located, becomes a street party that is impossible to resist.
While the parade on 18 May is the focal point of the Pride celebrations in Brussels, the activity kicked off on 8 May with a whole series of events. Major buildings with the Brussels Pride Week will be awash in rainbow colours, and even the iconic Manneken-Pis statue will be donned in a Pride costume to get into the spirit of things.

Theme for 2024
In Belgium, Europe and around the world, LGBTQIA+ people aspire to live their daily lives in an environment where everyone can feel free and at peace.
In 2024, it is imperative that the quality of life of LGBTQIA+ people becomes the norm, not the exception. We all need to take concrete, effective and lasting action against all forms of discrimination, violence and hate crime, everywhere, and all the time. These actions involve information and awareness-raising, respecting and representing all groups, with a particular focus on racial and gender minorities and disadvantaged communities.
The theme for this year’s event is “Safe Everyday Everywhere” – advocating for a society where everyone can feel free and safe. This is a powerful call from the entire LGBTQIA+ community for all citizens to take action on a daily basis.
They are calling for strong, sustainable proposals to be put in place so that everyone can live with dignity and peace of mind, while paying particular attention to health, freedom and equal opportunities.
Whether you're a young person, an adult or a senior citizen. Today and tomorrow. In Belgium, Europe and around the world. We still have a long way to go.
