Congo by Belgian journalist David Van Reybrouck wins international literature prize

The 2015 Tiziano Terzani international literature prize held in Udine, Italy, has been awarded to Congo by Belgian journalist David Van Reybrouck. Described as “the greatest African reportage from the times of Ryszard Kapuściński” – the renowned Polish journalist and writer deceased in January 2007, and one of the founders of Terzani’s Prize board – Congo is a voluminous work: 700 pages that come to life by the river Congo, point of access to the continent for colonists, missionaries and marauders of every kind for centuries.
