For the first time this month, the number of patients in the hospital because of the new coronavirus (Covid-19) has fallen below 5,000.
In the last 24 hours, 265 new patients were admitted to the hospitals because of the coronavirus, and 409 people have been discharged.
On Sunday morning, Belgium reported a total of 4,871 coronavirus patients in the hospital, according to figures by the Federal Public Health Service. This is a decrease of 198 from Saturday's 5,069 hospitalised patients.

For the first time since 31 March, when there were 4,995 admissions (of which the figures were reported the next day), the number has dropped below 5,000 again.
On 6 April, Belgian hospitals recorded a peak, with 6,012 coronavirus patients. Since then, the number has been gradually decreasing.
On Sunday, Belgium has recorded a total number of 38,496 confirmed cases since the beginning of the pandemic, which reflects all people in Belgium who have been infected at some point, and includes confirmed active cases as well as patients who have since recovered, or died from the consequences of the virus.
