The head of the PS in the Walloon parliament, the deputy Philippe Courard, will take over from Jean-Charles Luperto as the president of the Walloon-Brussels Federation Parliament. The PS will put forward the former minister and secretary of State’s name for the presidency of the Federation assembly, the Party said in a press release Tuesday evening.
As Jean -Charles Luperto is a socialist, it is logical that his post should go to one of his colleagues. The Walloon Parliament is presided over by cdH André Antoine.
According to the PS, Philippe Courand will “put his experience at the service of the Walloon-Brussels Federation parliamentary democratic debates”.
His morals having been brought into question, the deputy mayor of Sambreville Jean-Charles Luperto resigned from his post as President of the Walloon-Brussels Federation Parliament Monday evening, which he had held since 2008.
Until Mr Courand is appointed, the French-speaking assembly will be presided over by the first vice-president, Valérie De Bue (MR).
