During the evening, 19 awards will be voted on by the members of the André Delvaux Academy: best film, best director, best Flemish film, best foreign film in coproduction, best original or adapted scenario, best actress, best actor, best supporting actress, best supporting actor, best new female, best new male, best image, best sound, best set, best costumes, best original music, best editing, best short film and best documentary.
The public will vote for the Magritte for best first film and the Magritte d’honneur will be voted on by the Academy’s administration council, which it gives every year to “a Belgian or international film personality that it wishes to recognize for their precious contribution to cinematic history”. In previous years, André Delvaux, Nathalie Baye, Costa-Gavras and Emir Kusturica were given the award.
