The editor Dargaud is negotiating with the Walloon political world so it can set up a comic book school in Marcinelle, the Echo revealed on Thursday. Mayor Paul Magenette and his entourage are said to be celebrating, even though there are some details left to finalize. The project has been in the pipeline for several months and the town of Charleroi has been negotiating with private partners. Among them is the international Media-Participations group, which owns the editors Dargaud and Dupuis.
The Dargaud editor wants to house young people in residence at the “incubator” like school, which will be under Dupuis in Marcinelle. It hopes to find tomorrow’s talents.
Dargaud also wants a private partnership to fix the management of assets linked to the creation of talent in Wallonia. This means involving the Walloon region in the capital of the structure.
An important reunion is planned between the Ministers Jean-Claude Marcourt, Joëlle Milquet and Paul Magnette at the beginning of December.
