Chest containing human remains found in canal in Zutendaal

A chest containing human remains has been recovered from the Albert Canal in Zutendaal, near Genk. The Tongres section of Limburg Prosecutor's Office intends to launch an investigation. An investigating judge and a prosecutor have been tasked to visit the scene. Limburg Federal Police and forensic experts are currently analysing the  items recovered from the chest. A spokesman for the Prosecutor's Office has announced that, in the interest of the investigation and on the investigating judge's request, no details will currently be made public.
