Three times as many criminal biker gangs as 15 years ago

In 2000, there were 20 criminal biker gangs in Belgium. Now there are 60. Federal police guess that they have around a thousand members, mainly located in Flanders, according to Saturday’s Het Laaste Nieuws. “We are following the movements of Hell’s Angels, Outlaws, Bandidos, Blue Angels, Satudarah, No Surrender, and recently the Mongols”, explains Peter Dewaele, the spokesman for the federal police. “These well-organised groups are involved in drugs, prostitution, and extortion”.
