Suspected attacker Salah Abdeslam, Europe’s most wanted man after the Paris attacks on Friday, has had to deal with the Netherlands police earlier this year.
In February, he was searched for drugs on the A27 in Gorinchem and received a warning for possession of soft drugs, the Netherlands police informed on Wednesday.
Salah Abdeslam was driving back to Belgium along with his brother and another man.
The Netherlands police indicates that there is, so far, no proof of direct evidence between the authors of the attacks in Paris and the Dutch jihadist networks.
As he was being searched, information about Salah Abdeslam did not appear in the police data, they said, neither was there a wanted notice. He paid the 70-euro ticket and drove off, free.
