KBC reimbursing aid granted by Flanders will automatically make the Flemish public debt drop by 12.4%, the Flemish Budget Minister Annemie Turtelboom announced on Friday.
The Flemish debt will stand at 17.65 million euros, instead of 20.15 million euros.
The insurer-bank announced that it would pay back the last of the 2 billion euros of public aid and a 50% bonus it received from the Flemish government before the end of the year,: 5 years earlier than planned.
