Ismaël Saidi is cancelling his project aiming to produce videos to fight radicalisation, which the Brussels regional authorities pledged to finance on Wednesday, reports daily Le Soir on Friday. The author was severely criticised after presenting his project and decided to give up. “Accusations of cronyism, of lack of transparency, of being the Socialist Party’s poodle, of using this for a PR exercise, this is just too much for me,” explains Ismaël Saidi in an open letter to Brussels Minister-President Rudi Vervoort.
He suggested Mr. Vervoort should offer the 275,000 euros earmarked for the project to others.
