On Tuesday, Dutch police arrested four Belgians after a high-speed chase – destination Belgium. This was indicated by Dutch police. The police, at that point, fired a shot, a police spokesperson said.
The chase started in Rotterdam in the Netherlands. Here police were alerted to a dispute in a taxi. When the police wanted to check the vehicle, the driver refused. He fled, at speed, heading south.
With the help of several police vehicles and a helicopter, the police were able to arrest the suspects in the Belgian commune Hoevenen. This is close to Antwerp.
Police had to fire a shot during the arrest. This was because the suspects were not cooperating.
The Belgians were interviewed at the police station. One of them had suffered a head injury.
