More than two thirds of the Belgian French speaking community supported the actions of Wallonian Minister President Paul Magnette with regard to amending the text in CETA. This according to a survey carried out by RTL. 72.6% of those questions approved of his actions, while 11,7% were against. In Flanders, the view is different. 46% do not approve of his actions while 30% are supporting him.
On the question whether the debate will result in a positive image of Belgium worldwide, 58,9% responded yes while 24,7% believed it would result in a negative image. In Flanders, the results are inverse: 64,7% believe that the affair will not result in a positive viewpoint of Belgium.
The survey questioned 1000 people (603 Dutch speakers and 297 French speakers. The margin of error is 3,02%.
