Our security services currently fear a terrorist attack conducted by means of drones.
A working party in the Crisis Centre, specifically made up of army experts and the police airborne division, has the responsibility for discussing preventative measures as possible solutions.

The aim of such measures is to be able to counter a potential attack. This emerges today (Tuesday) in the daily newspapers De Morgen and Het Laatste Nieuws.

Dutch reports from last week indicate that terrorists may use drones when carrying out potential attacks. Through his spokesman the Minister for the Interior, Jan Jambon, has given assurances, “We take this terrorist threat very seriously.” The spokesman continued, “We must envisage every scenario, including a drone attack.”

However, Mr Jambon stresses that there is no such thing as a “purely Belgian” response to the problem. “We are also noting what is being done on the international stage. A multitude of countries are working together on such projects. We hope to learn lessons from their experiences in this sphere.”
