The “increased vigilance phase” is still appropriate today, on account of the most recent weather forecasts and winter precipitation. This is indicated by the Cell for Road Operation (“CAR”), made up of the Wallonia Regional Crisis Centre (“CRC-W”), the Perex Centre and the federal highways police. The Walloon Road Network continues to be subject to regular monitoring.

The CAR is stating that low volumes of snow remain possible during the day, before the weather becomes drier during the course of the afternoon. Ice patches may also make the roads slippery tonight.

All conventional means in terms of staff and equipment at the Wallonia Public Service (“SPW”) therefore remain mobilized. This is so as to ensure the safety of users and the maintenance of good traffic conditions on regional roads.

The CRC-W, the Perex Centre and the federal highways police are asking drivers to be vigilant and cautious.

Traffic conditions on the Walloon network are also detailed on the internet sites trafiroutes.wallonie.be and www.inforoutes.be.
