Snow expected on Wednesday

The weather will be variable, rather windy with occasional showers on Tuesday afternoon, followed by snow, overnight, in parts of the country, according to the Royal Meteorological Office, IRM. On Tuesday afternoon,  is a chance of stormy weather, while snow or sleet is expected in Ardennes. Highs will be 2 to 4 degrees in Ardennes and up to 5 or 6 degrees in most other regions. Winds will be moderate to rather high, reaching 60 to 70 km/hour in some cases.

This evening and overnight, the showers will decrease temporarily with more clear weather over the west and north of the country. In the south, the IRM forecasts rain, sleet or snow, depending on the altitude, as well as a storm risk. Snowfall could reach up to 10 cm while lows will not exceed 0 to -2 degrees in Ardennes and 0 to 4 degrees elsewhere.

On Wednesday, the weather will remain very unstable in the early part of the day, with sometimes intense winter showers, including in lower and central Belgium where the snow could remain temporarily on the ground. However, showers will be less intense and less frequent in the afternoon.

Ardennes will see highs of 0 to 3 degrees while other regions will have highs of 4 to 7 degrees. The west wind will be moderate to quite strong, with peaks of 60 to 70 km/hour.
