The latest issue of State bonds has yielded about 1,354 million euros, according to the final result of the issue, announced on Monday by the Debt Agency. This is the lowest yield ever registered, agency spokesman Jan Deboutte confirmed. He attributed the relative downturn to a rather low rate of return, 0.65%.
The next few months should see an increase in the rates of return, which could restore the attractiveness of state bonds, the Debt Agency’s only product targeting individual private investors.
"The subscriptions will be more considerable once the rate will again have topped the one-percent mark,” Deboutte predicted.
