Thief severely electrocuted in botched metal theft

A man's life is in danger after he was electrocuted while stealing metals from a hangar in Herstal in Liège on Sunday evening. Two other thieves were arrested at the time, according to the Liège public prosecutor. The hangar was previously used by weapon manufacturer FN.

Despite the warnings about the danger of electrocution, the three thieves entered the hangar intending to steal metal from the site, according to reports.

One of them received a severe electric shock when he touched cables. The two others panicked because they thought he was dead.

The fire brigade and an ambulance arrived on site not long after the incident.
