An 8-year-old Belgian girl was seriously injured on Monday after falling from a ski lift in Livigno, in the north of Italy. The girl was not properly fastened into the lift, which caused her fall, according to reports in local media.
When she fell out of the seat, the woman sitting next to her tried to grab her but was dragged out too. The child and the woman fell three metres and were seriously injured by the fall, according to Italian media.
A rescue helicopter took the wounded pair to a hospital in nearby Bergamo.
