Mons has provided more than 20 entrepreneurs with financial assistance via the Mons impulsion funds in the last two years. Mons authorities have revealed these projects culminated in new businesses being opened.
34 applications were submitted to the Mons impulsion fund jury in the last two years. 24 subsidised businesses opened because of the assistance provided. The focus has been on quality and the diversity and originality of the projects. They include a wedding dress shop, a pharmacy, a music shop and a bio shop.
“The impulsion funds have been a great success”, says Mons mayor Nicolas Martin. “They were designed to help good quality and original businesses open in the town centre. Every project leader, whether they are independent, artisan or franchised, can benefit from the funds and receive help with rent or a set-up bonus. They just have to submit a solid application that allows them to shine”.
The mayor will also extend the operation across the 19 Grand Mons communes.
