Five people have confessed to subjecting a student to hours of torture and abuse after breaking into his house in Wallonia, and two of the five have been charged with attempted rape, according to media reports on Friday.
“They beat him up with the handle of a window-cleaning tool and put salt in his wounds,” the father of the victim, referred to as Dorian by Belgian media, said in an interview on Friday. “They even tried to rape him with a beer bottle.”
At around 2:00 AM on Tuesday, five individuals broke into the home of the 19-year-old in the Walloon town of Fosses-la-Ville and proceeded to beat and torture him for four hours.
The victim and his father said the student’s ex-girlfriend was one of the five perpetrators.
The student, referred to by Belgian media as 19-year-old Dorian, was left with an orbital fracture and several injuries after the hours-long beating.
“When they left, he crawled out to the street and a neighbour took him to the hospital,” Dorian’s father added.
An arrest warrant has been issued against two of the perpetrators, aged 24 and 29, who were charged with beating, attempted rape and other offences. Two others, who had been charged failing to assist an endangered person, were conditionally released, according to reports.
The victim’s former girlfriend, a minor, has been placed in a youth protection institution.
